Carrots reduce stress!
Carrots are a good source of magnesium that is needed durning times of stress. With all the events coming up this is my go to smoothie right now.
Yes, some extra work is involved but it is worth it! If you don't have a juicer you can always buy the juice at your local health foods store.
Also, root vegetables are a good source of fiber, carbohydrates, and because they are subtly sweet, they can offset cravings for sugar.
Have a handful of baby carrots with some almond butter in the afternoon to offset hunger after a run.
(2 servings) plus extra
- 2 carrots peeled and juiced
- 1 tbsp of ginger juiced
- 1 tbsp of fresh turmeric juiced
- half of a pineapple, peeled and juiced
- 1 cup chamomile tea, chilled
- 2 frozen bananas, sliced
- 1 tsp Lucuma
Blend all in a blender and give it a try.
You can try your own juice or smoothie combinations of course.. but this works for me. – get creative!
